Smart Waste Management System

The Municipality will install new sensors in the smart waste management system, which will offer control of the capacity of the bins and centralized management of the collection routes and will enable the provision of high quality services to the citizen, while achieving a substantial increase in recycling rates and reducing management costs. This system will consist of independent and autonomous sensors per bin. The sensors will be installed in the lid of the bin and will measure the fullness as well as the temperature inside the bin to prevent in time possible ignition of waste inside the bins. This will allow the bins to be continuously monitored and detect any sudden changes.

Municipality’s Vehicle Management System

The Municipality’s Vehicle Management System involves the management software of the municipality’s vehicles and a pilot of five (5) sensors placed on the fleet vehicles that transmit in real time their location and various operating parameters. The software collects and processes this data, achieving:

• detailed data on the use and fuel consumption of each vehicle
• timely diagnosis of faults before the vehicle is taken out of service
• efficient maintenance planning and procurement of consumables and spare parts

With regard to the fleet of municipal vehicles (e.g. garbage trucks, ambulances, buses, service vehicles, etc.), the sensors transmit in real time their position and various operating parameters. By analysing these parameters, an early diagnosis of faults can be made before the vehicle is taken out of service, and effective planning of maintenance and the supply of consumables and spare parts can be achieved based on the use and actual information collected from the vehicle. The sensors of this solution are equipped with GPS and placed in a suitable vehicle interface to collect in real time all the necessary operational data
